SESSION 01 marks the inauguration of Galerie Azur Berlin as a space for intersection, experimentation, and transition. In dialogue with the audiovisual pulse of the Berlinale, this first exhibition unfolds as an inaugural gesture that understands art not as an isolated object, but as an expanded field where material presence and moving image continuously interact.
The exhibition proposes a fusion between physical works and video art that destabilizes traditional boundaries between media. Material pieces do not function as static supports, but as sensitive surfaces that absorb, reflect, and challenge the temporality of the moving image. Conversely, video becomes anchored in the tangible, acquiring weight, texture, and spatial presence. Within this exchange, the viewer’s body becomes an active element, navigating layered perceptions where visibility and time overlap.
Situated in Berlin—a city shaped by transformation, memory, and constant rewriting—SESSION 01 positions itself as a statement of intent. Galerie Azur Berlin emerges as a platform for hybrid practices, contemporary narratives, and languages that resist fixation. This first exhibition does not aim to conclude a discourse, but to initiate a sequence: a point of departure where image, object, and time converge to rehearse new ways of seeing.
