BIOGRAPHY
Alice Chevalier is an artist living in Paris where she was born in 1986 and where she studied Communication and Advertising. Self-taught, her passion for art started as a child, made of mixed techniques such as collage, painting and drawing, playing with images, words and colours.
She draws her inspiration from magazines, music, cinema, art, literature, news, people around her and her memories. Her interest in the human psyche is clearly manifested in her works, which revolve around emotions, dreams, the struggles she carries, inner conflicts and interpersonal relationships.
The combination of words and images allows her to convey messages often marked by honesty and vulnerability. Her sensitivity, humor and questioning are manifested through the choice of her messages, driven by her quest for the best combination that forms a whole.
She uses shapes, colours and drawing through painting or pastels to express memories, emotions and often to bring a perspective and dimension to her works.
She works mainly on paper in a poster format which is in her eyes the best way to express her art.

STATEMENT
I have always worked in a kind of creative emergency, to respond to a need to go through an emotional state, to awaken something in myself or just to respond to inspiration. My objective is to provoke associations in the viewer’s mind that affect them at a deep level and often echo personal emotions. My wish is to convey moving, sometimes surprising, deep, colourful and inspiring ideas, offering my vision of the world.
