We collect information from what we observe but also associate it with experiences and concepts that influence our interpretation.
The spectator initiates a process of intellectual reconnection of points, also known as “connecting dots”.
This concept – the capacity of human intelligence to see beyond the obvious and find sophisticated relationships -according to Steve Jobs, captures information from the environment in which we move, store it, work with it and analyze it to give place for the connections to manifest, albeit very subtly.
Within the history of art it is easy to connect these dots when looking back, when a historiographical study of the styles, movements and canons has been carried out; but in contemporary art it seems more daring to connect points that have nothing in common. Formal, technical and aesthetic aspects create crossed dialogues, and connections
that transport the viewer from one work to another, inviting them to generate their own journey and to find within their baggage those triggers that possibly unleash new beliefs.
GALERIA AZUR’s new show in Berlin explores the multiple curatorial interpretations, seeking to find relationships, connections, and dialogue from the multiple connected dots embodied in these interrelated works of art.
