BIOGRAPHY

Born in Adapazarı, Turkey, Yasemin Keltek channels the contrasts of her environment into immersive artistic explorations. Drawn to the interplay between personal identity and collective experience, she infuses her work with contemplations on how place, culture, and emotion intersect. With a background that balances practical insight and creative depth, Keltek steadily evolved her practice to investigate the subtle boundaries shaping human perception. Her approach embraces experimentation, prompting viewers to consider the tensions between inward reflection and shared realities. Through layered imagery and evocative forms, Keltek’s art offers portals to deeper questions of belonging, challenging conventional narratives and inviting fresh perspectives on the fragile links between self and society.

CV

Keltek earned a degree from Hacettepe University and completed her M.A. in Plastic Arts at Yeditepe University where she explored “Self-Portrait and Selfie”. She has exhibited at Art Capital Paris, UNESCO Headquarters, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum. She participated in the 14th and 16th Contemporary İstanbul fairs and received the Leonida Award in Italy (December 2024).

STATEMENT

I examine how power, culture, and environment shape our sense of self. By juxtaposing what’s seen and unseen, my work uncovers the tensions that govern identity and our ties to place. Through minimal yet deliberate forms, I invite viewers to reflect on the fragile meeting point of human presence and social structures.
