BIOGRAPHY
Anja Siimes, educated at Alfa-Art School in Helsinki, combines her background in gynecology and psychoanalysis with artistic research. Her expressive acrylic paintings explore inner experiences of becoming a separate self, a girl, and an artist. STATEMENT
I love abstract expressionism.
Through expressive painting, I aim to discover something new that carries emotional significance.
I let brushes and intuition guide the process, allowing chance and spontaneity to shape my acrylic paintings on canvas.
In resent series of paintings, I explore, through imagination and by painting, my becoming a separated self, a girl and an artist.
