BIOGRAPHY

Zhou Mo is a female artist from China. Growing up in an East Asian family, she has explored themes such as prejudice, contempt, loneliness, and superstition within the Chinese context. After three years abroad, her focus shifted to love, security, and self-identity.

Zhou Mo’s personal reflections are primarily expressed through 2D imagery. Inspired by Basquiat’s use of materials and rock painting techniques. The vibrant colours and exaggerated expressive techniques that characterize her work further enrich these explorations.

STATEMENT

The themes of my work draw inspiration from subtle changes in the psychological activities of contemporary youth, focusing on love and security. Most pieces explore the motivations behind behaviours and the true emotional needs within, often contrasting these elements or reflecting psychological states through concrete images observed in meditation.
