STATEMENT
After spending his childhood in a pleasant coastal village in northern Cuba, Tomas Cano cultivated a lifelong sense of wonder and curiosity. Being raised in a politically charged environment, he developed an innate propensity for questioning and understanding. The pursuit of meaning through artistic practice anchors his creative path. Currently he is engrossed in an all-encompassing study of light and its diverse physical and artistic properties. His exploration seeks to grasp light’s metaphysical essence and its analogical relationship to the abstract phenomenon of time. His creative process tryies to attain a transcendental comprehension of transience itself through the tangible experience of seeing.
