STATEMENT
The most important thing to me is the awareness that I am following in the footsteps of the history of abstraction. This is what makes my practice different from simply making work for personal achievement or the pleasure of painting.
I am interested in the relationship between the beginning of abstraction, abstract expressionism, and neo expressionism—from Kandinsky to Joan Mitchell to Cy Twombly and Leon Golub.
