BIOGRAPHY

Pennington’s work interrogates the interplay between memory and perception through the synthesis of paint, color, and layered graphic structures. Her practice distills visual narratives into forms that evoke the universal and personal nature of recollection, layered with gestural mark-making. She navigates the emotional, physical, and sensory dimensions of memory, portraying its metamorphosis from fleeting moments to lasting impressions. Through a dance of abstraction and representation, Pennington’s pieces challenge the viewer to engage with the fluid, evolving essence of remembered experiences.

STATEMENT

My practice is a deliberate exploration of balance and duality—between analog and digital, abundance and restraint. Creating transcends the tangible, becoming a vessel for memories, emotions, and ephemeral states. As a mother, woman, and artist, I navigate these interwoven roles, transforming what is felt and seen into compositions that exist beyond touch.
