STATEMENT
My mixed media and digital collages pay homage to humanity’s collective memories and dreams. Made from recycled bits of old books, magazines, and photographs, I endeavor to create ethereal dreamscapes, exploring themes such as memory, love, loss, and the complexity of feminine energy. Like a Proustian memory, the juxtaposition of seemingly insignificant imagery sometimes has the power to jolt us back into more emotionally potent times- sometimes bringing darkness, but also lightness, joy, and wonder. Through my art, I attempt to visualize some of the most ineffable feelings that we experience throughout our brief journeys on earth, collapsing time, so dreams and reality can become one.
