BIOGRAPHY
My journey as an artist started more than 10 years ago when I studied architecture. A lot of sketching, a lot of painting, a lot of drawing. Later, I began creating sketches for myself, and that’s where the idea of balance came to me and moved me creatively. Most of my inspiration started to come from nature and its textures. When you see a tree up close, I notice all the tiny intricate details, it suddenly feels like a whole universe inside just one tree. That same tree needs to stay in balance, during calm weather and during a storm. Rooting itself and grounding itself in its environment. These thoughts about how the world is organised pushed me to the belief, concept and interpretation that everything inside us, as people, should also come into balance. Our feelings, emotions, the meanings we carry in life. Life moves fast now, full of events, sentiments, consciousness, rooted in our soul. Every day, we have to find a moment of balance. And that’s how my two main artwork lines came to life.
The Balance series is all about harmony, tranquility and rapport. The elements on my canvas balance between each other the same way our feelings do inside us. And through life, we face so many situations, with even more emotional reactions. All of these create who we are. That’s how the Soul series was born, a shape made from balanced emotions.
The third line of my artworks is limited. It came from my development of thought: what surrounds, affects and influences us? For me, my dog is like a part of me. So, the answer is Fauna. All the creatures and animals around us. And since our planet has a limited number of species, this collection “One Hundred” is also limited. This line has a very clear, natural life cycle. It’s not influenced by trends or society, it’s about what exists, purely, simply and honestly. That’s why I chose just one bright colour. Clear and straightforward. I also wanted to show how fragile this part of the world really is. That’s why I used plastering — a technique that adds texture but also enhances each piece to become more delicate. These artworks can’t be rolled or folded. They require more care, just like Fauna.
