Conceived as the sexual song by an eighties rock band, “Stripped” was reconceptualized by the followers of Depeche Mode. The lofty creation that smells of sex and tachycardic kisses, will now be translated as dispossession. It talks about escaping from technology and civilization, about baring the most intimate level of emotions. STRIPPED, the homonymous exhibition at Galería Azur Madrid, brings together a selection of artists intending to undress those emotions, perhaps hidden behind a fleeting glance at art.
Calmness, tranquility, anxieties and frustrations. The game of aesthetics, form, rhythm, color and texture are crossed by the artist’s sensitive gaze and reinterpretation. Once again, the narrative journey through the rooms of our Chueca neighborhood gallery undresses a group of artists, and invites us to become spectators of an art devoid of external influences that hide the true essence of being.
