BIOGRAPHY

Visvaldis Asaris (b. 16 January 1960, Riga) is a Latvian graphic artist, poster designer, and environmental artist. He studied at the Riga Secondary School of Applied Arts (1979) and the Art Academy of Latvia (1994), later earning a master’s degree in environmental art (2012). Known for environmental protection posters in the 1980s–90s, he later created urban installations such as the Old Stender Monument (2014) and Silver Apple Tree (2018). A member of the Artists’ Union since 1989, his works are held in national collections.
