BIOGRAPHY
Valeria Secret is a contemporary self-taught artist based in Marbella, Spain. She creates her paintings on canvas with a mixture of human forms, natural beauty, luxury items and wildlife. Her artworks touch on various specific topics and she expresses the satire and irony of modern society in a fun and philosophical way. The artist explores love and relationship, religion and the lifestyle of rich and famous using metaphors which makes her artworks bold and meaningful. Valeria often resorts to self-portraits which helps to emphasize the sarcasm even more.

STATEMENT
The thin line between reality and fantasy is often blurred in Valeria’s artworks. With vibrant and vivid colors, she paints realistic human forms and worlds where natural beauty, luxury items, high fashion, and wildlife mingle without a fundamental loss of identity. Hers is contemporary magical realism, an oxymoron characterized by a juxtaposition of different worlds and things, by the meticulous and unusual arrangement of details that make the real-world setting unfamiliar, uncanny, and beyond reality. Valeria´s artworks touch on many different and various specific topics and she expresses the satire and irony of modern society in a fun and philosophical way. Valeria often resorts to self-portraits which helps to emphasize the sarcasm even more. She wants to immerse the audience in the world of luxury while showing its vicious side. Her aim is to make people find their own meaning in her artworks so she only gives hints using metaphors which makes her artworks bold and mysterious.
