BIOGRAPHY

Alexandra Truzsi is a contemporary visual artist whose practice is rooted in intuitive painting. In her work, she explores the relationship between the inner and outer worlds, expressing emotion, presence, and processes of transformation through an abstract visual language. Her paintings emerge from an instinctive creative process in which colors, forms, and gestures unfold at the threshold between the conscious and the unconscious. She aims to create pictorial spaces that invite the viewer to explore their own inner world, find stillness, and establish a personal, reflective connection with the work.

STATEMENT

My painting practice is rooted in an intuitive process where color, form, and gesture emerge as traces of an inner landscape. Rather than illustrating external realities, my works translate emotional states, presence, and transformation into abstract visual compositions. Each painting develops through a continuous dialogue between intention and spontaneity, control and surrender, allowing the work to unfold according to its own internal logic.

I am interested in creating spaces of contemplation – paintings that invite stillness, slow perception, and a deeper connection with one’s inner experience. Instead of communicating through symbolic imagery or predetermined narratives, my visual language relies on the expressive relationships between color, movement, texture, and rhythm. Meaning arises not from representation, but from the encounter between the work and the viewer.

An essential aspect of my practice is the openness of interpretation. I deliberately avoid prescribing fixed meanings, believing that each painting becomes complete through the personal associations and emotional responses it evokes. This openness creates a space where perception itself becomes an active and reflective experience.

My work is connected to a lineage of abstract painting that explores emotional and spiritual experience through the intrinsic qualities of the medium rather than through symbolic signs. Within the context of contemporary abstraction, I seek to create paintings that are grounded in authenticity and inner necessity – works that offer moments of quiet intensity and invite a contemplative dialogue beyond language.
