STATEMENT
My artistic journey is propelled by the desire to capture the nuanced essence of the human experience. Through the interplay of form, color, and texture, I aim to convey the complexity and diversity of emotions, relationships, and introspective moments. My intention is to evoke a visceral response in the viewer, inviting them to navigate the interwoven layers of meaning within each composition.
Within the abstracted figures that populate my canvases, themes of identity, connection and nature. I am captivated by the fluidity of interpretation, allowing viewers to discover personal narratives within the ambiguity of the forms. The subjects I choose act as vessels, transcending their literal representation to become conduits for emotional resonance and contemplation.
My creative process is a dance between control and spontaneity. I start with a conceptual framework, drawing inspiration from human interactions, personal memories. As I apply layers of oil, acrylic, and oil pastels, I embrace the unpredictability that arises. The textures and juxtapositions emerge organically, mirroring the ebb and flow of life’s inherent unpredictability.
In the dialogue between abstraction and figuration, I strive to establish a connection with the viewer that transcends the literal. I encourage viewers to engage with the ambiguity, to seek their own interpretations. The tactile qualities of my work invite a sensorial connection, encouraging viewers to explore the textured surfaces and intricate details.
Through the synthesis of figurative abstraction and a diverse array of mediums, my art becomes a celebration of the beauty found in the ambiguity of existence. Each stroke is an invitation to contemplate, interpret, and find solace in the evocative power of visual expression. As I navigate the ever-evolving interplay between form and formlessness, I invite you to join me in this exploration of the human and animal spirit and the boundless possibilities of artistic expression.
