BIOGRAPHY
Stiefnu was born in Lija, Malta, In 1985. His main inspiration comes from the marine and nautical world. In his works one can see a variety of abstract forms developed from the same theme. His painting is inspired from mass representation of fish and huge numbers of abstract prawns.

Stiefnu was born in Lija, Malta, In 1985. He started his first art lessons under the tuition of Michael Mifsud, Herman Baldacchino and Twanny Darmanin.
He completed the First Diploma, National Diploma, and the Higher National Diploma in Art & Design, Malta. 2018/19 Stiefnu participated in an international collective exhibition with the name, Vasi Comunicanti, which toured Santo Stefano Di Camastra, Sciacca and Mazzara Del Vallo in Sicily, together with fellow Maltese and Italian ceramists.
Stiefnu was awarded a one month scholarship in Sciacca, Sicily in 2007. In 2022 Stiefnu was chosen to represent Malta for the UNESCO Art Camp that was held in Baku and Shusha, in Azerbaijan.
Stiefnu had two solo exhibitions one in 2019 and in 2023
STATEMENT
Childhood days spent by the sea accompanying his father on different boats around the island, are the primary source of some of the artist’s most enduring memories. It is from these memories that the artist derives his inspirations, which he then expresses into tangible form to produce the works of art.
