BIOGRAPHY
Silvio Kempf lives and works in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg. With a professional background in the film industry, he is a self-taught photographic artist.
Under the label licht.illusion, Kempf presents abstract works that blur the boundaries between reality and illusion. Through extraordinary combinations of color, texture and form, something entirely new emerges.
Often drawing from natural motifs and everyday scenes, his photographs transform into captivating visual worlds that challenge our perception of reality. Far from mere documentation of the surrounding environment, Kempf creates art that captures more than what meets the eye. Abstraction is already present in his careful selection of unique perspectives. Deliberate use of blur softens the line between photography and painting, giving his work its distinctive character.
In 2024, limited edition pieces were showcased in both solo and group exhibitions. A particularly successful collaboration took place in November with Strzelski Galerie Stuttgart. As part of the “Pop Up Dillmann” initiative, new works were introduced and sold during a group show.
In spring 2025, Kempf’s first solo exhibition was held at Nadler Galerie in Elsterwerda, Brandenburg. He is currently presenting two artworks of his latest series “Fluidity” at Galeria Azur in Berlin. Additional exhibition contributions are planned for later this year in Konstanz, Munich and Stuttgart.
