BIOGRAPHY

Even during my school and university days in Berlin, I was always interested in artistic creation. One work of art that I think is brilliant and that has influenced and inspired me throughout my life is The Vertical Earth Kilometer by American artist Walter De Maria. The work of art was made for the documenta 6 in 1977 in Kassel / Germany and installed there. The statement by the German-American architect and founder of the Bauhaus school, Walter Gropius, also gave me lasting inspiration: “Colorful is my favorite color”.
However, during my professional life as a high school teacher, I often did not have enough time to complete many artworks. Only after I retired in 2018 did I finally have time for what I enjoy most: making artworks.

CV

Parts of my artwork appeared in October and November 2021 for the first time in an exhibition. The formation of figures “Visitors” was shown in the exhibition “Corona-Culture”, at Alte Muenze, Berlin-Mitte.

STATEMENT

The focus of my work is on wooden sculptures. From time to time I also work with metal. Facial expressions have always fascinated me. That’s why I often create heads and faces in my work.
Current topics also play a role in my artistic expression. This is shown by my sculptural installation “Approaching AI”.
