BIOGRAPHY
Paula Rello (Madrid, 2000) is a visual artist mainly focused on painting and drawing. The figurative style that characterizes her work is gradually merging with a fleeting and carefree graphic approach, sometimes in a childish or cartoon-ish way. Despite her short artistic career, she is full of enthusiasm for the evolution of her work, opening her mind more and more to new processes and graphics. Nevertheless, she has a strong attachment to academicism and the correct application of anatomical concepts, as well as all the essential and technical foundations of painting. “It is necessary to study where we start from in order to change the course towards innovation”.

STATEMENT
Through my work I try to represent problems of today’s society from a seemingly positive point of view. This is why I like to use rhetorical figures in my painting, as well as childish elements that break with the sobriety of the academic figurativism also present, thus creating a duality between the seriousness of the concept to be represented and the satire with which I approach it. I also search common issues to certain generational groups, gathering a point of view constituted by the subjectivity of those individuals involved. This way I can make sure most people will be able to relate with my paintings.
