BIOGRAPHY

Martina Steck is an experienced artist, graphic designer, and illustrator with more than three decades of artistic practice in fine arts and digital media. She studied Fine Arts at the Art Academies in Karlsruhe and Constance, followed by studies in Media & Graphic Design and Business Administration.
Her work merges classical artistic techniques with contemporary digital forms of expression, continuously exploring the intersections between reality and imagination.

STATEMENT

Meine Arbeit bewegt sich zwischen Grafik, Ornament, floralen Mustern und abstrakten Landschaften. Ich probiere gerne Neues aus und suche nach Wegen, unterschiedliche Ausdrucksformen miteinander zu verbinden. Dabei interessieren mich besonders die Strukturen und Rhythmen der Natur, die ich in meinen Kompositionen neu interpretiere.

Mit Farbe, Linie und Textur schaffe ich Bilder, die weniger Abbilder sind, sondern vielmehr poetische Konstruktionen – ein Spiel zwischen Ordnung und Freiheit, zwischen Abstraktion und Anklängen an das Figurative. Malerei ist für mich ein offener Prozess, der ständig in Bewegung bleibt und immer wieder neue Räume eröffnet.

My work moves between graphic design, ornament, floral patterns, and abstract landscapes. I enjoy exploring new directions and combining different modes of expression. I am especially drawn to the structures and rhythms of nature, which I reinterpret within my compositions.

Through color, line, and texture, I create images that are less about depiction and more about poetic constructions – a play between order and freedom, between abstraction and hints of the figurative. Painting for me is an open process, always in motion, always opening new possibilities.
