BIOGRAPHY
Nest Onzea descends from a large (9 children) and artistic family in Antwerp. After a career at a bank and later as a representitive of several printing companies,
he started after retiring together with his wife evening school at the art academy.
His brother, Ludo Onzea, who died at the age of 32, had studied at the academy in Brussels (La Cambre) together with Pierre Alechinsky.
Subtly and surprisingly Nest plays with lines and colors in semi-abstract paintings and portraits in his own persanal style.
The result is a cheerful play of colors and shapes that, like a Schubert song, can simultaneously evoke joy, wonder or depth.
