BIOGRAPHY
Nadeem Baghdadi is a contemporary abstract expressionist painter whose work grows from walking the northern landscape of England. Whilst on his walks he makes quick, intuitive field sketches that later evolve into oil on canvas paintings in his studio. His paintings explore atmosphere, terrain and ecological change through expressive movement driven brush strokes. His practice translates the shifting rhythms of coastlines, moorland and weather into layered abstractions. He continues to develop work shaped by place, motion and the lived experience.

STATEMENT
My work explores the emotional and ecological change of landscape through abstraction. Walking and sketching outdoors forms the foundation of each painting, later expanded in oil on canvas through layered colour, texture and movement. I aim to translate atmosphere, terrain and the lived experience into expressive, resonant visual form.
