BIOGRAPHY

Molly Sikora is a contemporary abstract artist whose work explores memory, movement, and the quiet beauty found in everyday life. Working primarily in acrylic and mixed media, she creates layered compositions that balance intuition with intention, allowing each piece to evolve through a process of building, erasing, and rediscovery. Her paintings invite viewers into an open-ended dialogue, encouraging personal interpretation rather than fixed meaning.

Growing up on a farm in northwest Iowa taught me to notice rhythm, texture, and the quiet poetry of everyday life. I studied fine art photography, painting, and art history at the University of Iowa before transferring to Columbia College Chicago, where I earned my degree in Fine Art Photography. Later, careers in fashion and interior design refined my eye for composition and the emotional impact of objects within a space. Today those experiences converge in my studio practice.

She hopes her paintings create room for pause. Rather than telling viewers what to see, she wants them to discover something of themselves within the work. The unexplained has always interested her most—that feeling that life is often more beautifully choreographed than we realize.
