BIOGRAPHY

I’m Mirko Aquaro, an artist and entrepreneur currently residing in Berlin. Originally from Italy, I’ve spent the past four years in Berlin, a city that has greatly influenced my life and work.

My journey as an entrepreneur, co-founding a company in the gaming industry, has been a testament to the power of creativity, logic, strategy, and perseverance.

This success in the business world has afforded me the freedom to create art without compromise, allowing me to stay true to my artistic vision.
In my entrepreneurial endeavors, I’ve always strived for innovation, a mindset that I carry into my art.

The realms of logic and creativity are not separate, but intertwined. They are two sides of the same coin, two aspects of the human mind that can and should be fully utilized.

My art stands at the intersection of my entrepreneurial experience and my artistic vision. It is an exploration of identity, perception, and the human condition, aiming to bring something new and innovative to the contemporary art world. My work is a testament to this belief, challenging the self-limiting beliefs that often constrain our understanding of ourselves and the world around us.

STATEMENT

My artwork is characterized by distinct elements that create a unique visual language.

Each piece is set against a stark white background, a choice designed to draw the viewer’s attention entirely to the figures I depict.

This minimalist backdrop serves to highlight the subjects of my work, allowing their stories to unfold without distraction.

The figures themselves are often bald, a decision that lends an air of ambiguity to their identities.

This lack of definitive gender markers allows viewers to engage with the work without preconceived notions, encouraging a deeper, more personal interpretation.

Another notable feature of my work is the elongation of necks and limbs, which adds a surreal and expressive quality to the figures. This stylistic choice further emphasizes the emotional intensity of the subjects, creating a sense of intrigue.

I like to put strong emphasis on the eyes of the depicted figures. The eyes, often said to be the windows to the soul, are a focal point in my work, inviting viewers to connect with the emotional depth and complexity of the subjects.

Through these recurring motifs, my art seeks to engage viewers in a dialogue that transcends the canvas, exploring themes of identity, perception, and the human condition.
