STATEMENT
My mixed art work which combines oils and acrylics reflect my experiences and journeys surrounded by nature’s beauty. As a spiritual soul I’m influenced by nature, my heritage, and the circle of life. I express this using bold colours, layering, and textures.
The maps embedded in my paintings are not just geographical references; they are the landscapes of my childhood, the roads I have traveled, and the invisible lines that connect my two cultural worlds: India and Kenya.
The intricate Indian textiles, mandalas, and African beadwork represent the artistic traditions that have been passed down through generations, anchoring me to my roots. These elements remind me that my path is not just mine alone—it carries the stories, struggles, and celebrations of those who walked before me.
My purpose as a mixed media female artist is to utilize my voice and honor nature, celebrate cultural conceptions, and explore relationships between memory, identity, and passage of the time.
