BIOGRAPHY
María Antonia Linares is a Panamanian visual artist and founder of Studio Malindo. With a creative background shaped by art, fashion, and visual storytelling, she works primarily with collage, acrylic paint, and mixed media. Her layered compositions explore memory, identity, social expectations, and the contrast between appearance and reality. Playful, colorful, and subtly surreal, her work transforms familiar imagery into emotionally charged narratives that evoke joy, irony, and nostalgia while inviting viewers to discover the stories hidden beneath the surface.

Panamanian mixed-media artist with a primarily self-taught practice, complemented by studies at Ganexa and The Art Students League of New York. She holds a Marketing degree from Marymount University, USA, and creates private commissions. Her work has featured in charity auctions at MAC Panamá and will be exhibited in Bogotá, Chicago, and New York in 2026.
STATEMENT
Through collage, acrylic paint, and layered textures, I explore femininity, memory, social expectations, and the tension between appearance and truth. I combine vintage imagery, bold color, humor, and nostalgia to create playful yet provocative visual narratives that invite viewers to look beyond the surface and discover the stories hidden underneath.
