STATEMENT

I am driven by a desire to travel to different places around the world, preferably remote areas, where I often find inspiration. I often work with concepts, where I can experiment with self-portrait and investigate fragments of a life event, a culture or places around the world. The aesthetic is important, and often has an overall role. I call my works experiments, which are characterized by an investigation. Unexpected encounters and life’s fate are always a source of new ideas, and I let the feeling and energy lead the way. The work is done very intuitively. Representational or abstract photography alike, I like to end up in the borderland in between. I always have different projects going on at the same time, this gives me a flow that benefits the process. Surreal paintings, architecture and film are also very important elements in my creation, they are a great source of inspiration for the way I work with lighting and color. I like to create an atmosphere that can move the viewer to another dimension.
