BIOGRAPHY
I was born in Tokyo in 1999. I studied oil painting at Tokyo University of the Arts, and am researching pigments in the graduate school’s the Oil Painting Techniques and Materials Laboratory. Picking up favorite stones in the forests, mountains, or on the roadside, I grind them to make pigments. And I find something like transparent glass attached to it. Then imagining that there may be dinosaur bones in it, or shell fossils, etc., and I paint while thinking that the pigment I am using may be a part of a creature from the past.

STATEMENT
I primarily use oil paints that I mix with natural materials such as stone, iron, and copper to explore unique colors and expressions. When painting, however, these materials may or may not adhere to the oil paint when mixed together, while their colours change and erode over time. It feels as if the old creatures such as animals and micro-organisms fossilised in the materials are coming back to life, and the painting appears to be alive.
