BIOGRAPHY

Karine Andriasyan is a 1967-year born artist of Armenian descent known for her expressive and textural mixed media abstractions. She uses collage materials of her own creation, found objects, various artifacts as well as oil and acrylic paints to create energetic pieces that are emotionally charged and visually engaging.
Through her experimentation, Karine has found that there is a synesthetic connection between color and human emotion. The drama and the harmony, the energy of a movement and the tranquility, the quiet self-analysis and the loud expression, are the inherent elements of her works.
Karine takes active participation in the international art scene. She has worked in collaboration with like minded artists on a number of projects.
Her artworks can be found in private collections in the USA, Canada, Australia, several European countries, Russia and Armenia.

STATEMENT

My works are the intuitive emotional response to the events that are happening in my life and in society at a given moment.
Abstract shapes, colors, texture and lines are informed by the feelings and thoughts are born in soul-searching, a constant dialogue between myself and a composition in progress.
In these turbulent times, I seek harmony and beauty, and if I cannot find it, I create it on my canvas to share with a viewer who I want to connect with on an emotional level through the abstract imagery of my paintings.
