BIOGRAPHY
Josiane Debatisse works with mixed techniques on canvas, paper and plexiglass. The music, the forces of nature and big cities are her main sources of inspiration.
In 2005, she worked with mixed techniques on canvas. She incorporates fabrics, wires, keys and always old music scores in large canvases.
In 2014, she chose a new support : the plexiglass. The technique was after that reversed : on canvas and paper, the collages began the work, and then the paint splashes to achieve the masterpiece and to transmit the movement. On the plexiglass support, Josiane Debatisse starts the art work with several splashes of white or colored paint in a calculated improvisation by basing all her art on gesture, chance and/or accident as catalysts of her creative energy; the color becomes movement !
