BIOGRAPHY
Hyewon Park is a Seoul-based abstract painter whose work explores the relationship between color, texture, and geometric structure.
Inspired by the open weave of traditional Korean ramie fabric, she creates subtle layers of color through repeated brushstrokes.
Her compositions balance contrasting color fields, allowing each to retain its own presence while creating a quiet sense of depth, rhythm, and spatial tension.

Hyewon Park is a Seoul-based abstract painter who studied Art Education at Hanyang University. She has held solo and curated exhibitions in Korea and participated in international art fairs in Miami, Chicago, Berlin, Hong Kong, and Singapore. At ArtExpo Chicago 2026, both of her exhibited paintings were sold to a private collector.
STATEMENT
My work began with an interest in colors filtering through the open weave of ramie fabric. As I gradually reduced texture, space, proportion, and balance became more visible. Today, I explore how two contrasting colors can coexist as equals, each retaining its own presence within a restrained geometric structure.
