BIOGRAPHY
Graça Tirelli was born in Alegrete, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
She developed her painting technique in art schools and artists’ studios, both nationally and internationally.
She has participated in over 75 exhibitions, 13 solo exhibitions, and received 16 awards in national and international art salons.
In 2022, her book “Graça Tirelli and the Life of Images” was published, featuring a text by art critic Jacob Klintowitz.
She is represented by art galleries in Gramado, Porto Alegre, São Paulo, and Barcelona. Her work is part of the collection of the Art Nou 277 Foundation. Barcelona.
She is present on the online platforms Saatchi Gallery, and Artsper.
She currently lives and works in her studio in the city of Porto Alegre, Brazil.

STATEMENT
My painting is characterized by the reclaiming of myth, expressing itself in the diversity of cultures and their symbolism. With a palette full of colors, it reflects its contemporaneity. The artistic process has been carried out over the years, as a journey through cultures, focusing on the anthropological question, like mini-snapshots of the diverse worlds that inhabit my contemporary world.
My work is divided into series: “Kaleidospeople, Rock Showcases, The Submerged, and the more recent series “Cows Also Wear Prada / Dynasty of Asterion and Society of Felines.” Each one has a characteristic, but the essence rescue of myth and expresses my experience, my lived experience, conceptualizing rhythm, mark, identity.
And in this way, I can reassess our interdependence; as human beings, narrating human history through painting, articulating signs and my personal language.
