BIOGRAPHY
Giovanna Desiderato is a self-taught Swiss artist from Lugano who began painting in search of a deeper connection with the human condition.
Her approach to abstract art stems from the need to negate the representation of reality by expressing feelings through lines shapes and colors, colors and rhythms that tell the story we are living or the stories we would like to live.
Her painting are never planned, instead she strikes a balancing act between instinct and reason, free from any form of control.

STATEMENT
For me art is the way to create a strong connection with own myself and the audience, a visual experience that takes the viewer on an immersive journey, is to transport viewers into a realm of sensations, triggering connections that transcend borders and cultures.
Each painting is like a window into the soul each painting living a life of its own.
Sometimes I work guided by ideas and conditions I feel need to be expressed, other times it is the emotions themselves that lead the creative gesture; I let them flow, until they manifest themselves on the canvas, freely.
It is this urgent need to explore new forms, driven by the urgency of my inner visions, laden with emotional weight, that gives meaning to the final composition.
I find happiness in the conscious search for something that may remain elusive: an endless exploration.
