BIOGRAPHY

Carlos Eduardo Porras is a Venezuelan-Italian contemporary artist born in Mérida, Venezuela, a city surrounded by the Andes Mountains. His connection to art began in childhood, painting alongside his mother in her home studio. Originally trained as a civil engineer, Porras later transformed his lifelong passion for painting into an international artistic career. His work explores nature, human society, emotion, and our connection to the living world through vibrant color, movement, texture, and a distinctive balance between structure and creative freedom.

CV

Selected exhibitions include ArtExpo New York, Red Dot Miami, Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, exhibitions in Milan, Florence, Cannes, Basel, Madrid and Bogotá, and solo exhibitions in Venezuela and Provincetown, Massachusetts. Porras has also served as a jury member for the Venezuelan Art Fair in New York.

STATEMENT

Nature is the foundation of my work. Growing up surrounded by the Andes shaped the way I see color, form, texture, and life. Through abstraction and vibrant compositions, I reinterpret the natural world while inviting viewers to reconnect with it, respect it, and recognize the beauty and fragility of our shared environment.
