BIOGRAPHY
Carl Jaunay joined La Maison des Artistes in 2016 as an “Object Reanimator.” Preferring soft finishes, Carl creates works that invite caress. A listed artist, he is exhibited in galleries and is part of numerous private and public collections. Among his most notable achievements: His monumental galvanized metal Bull , acquired by the town of Grimaud and installed at the foot of its mill. The war memorial , commissioned in 2024 by the town of Bourguébus. Carl exhibits in Paris, Dubai, Miami, New York, Brussels, Monaco, Luxembourg, St-Tropez, Nice, Lyon, Aix-en-Provence, etc.
Lost wax information
The matrix is made from a block of beeswax. A mold is made around it from clay, refractory plaster, etc. The mold is heated to melt the wax, which is then removed. It leaves a cavity in the shape of the object. The molten metal is then poured into the cavity and allowed to cool. Once the metal has solidified, the mold is broken to reveal the cast object, making the piece unique. The piece is then chiseled, polished, and then patinated for coloring to give it its final appearance.
