BIOGRAPHY
An abstract painter with roots in realism, Ben Young implements his intimacy with his environment into his work.
His professional background in color theory, composition and realism is represented in his abstract work today. Using a strong command of color, bold and subtle, he creates a striking balance of realism and abstraction. This has allowed Ben the versatility to paint in multiple styles successfully.
Ben Young is an American artist born in New York City, 1968. He lives in Laguna Beach, CA. Ben attended and graduated from Otis College of Art & Design.

STATEMENT
Art is a journey. Each piece, the product of a lifetime of seeing, feeling, traveling, listening and absorbing. I paint to express how I feel, and through my work, evoke questions about who we are as human beings, our planet, human sustainability and simply to be an artistic lens to reflect nature’s beauty.
As an artist I have been given the opportunity to visually reimagine and expand upon the nuances of my experiences. I am grateful for art.
Art is a place I can go, free of time and boundaries.
