BIOGRAPHY

Hi, my name is Beata. I am a Pole who currently resides in Vienna and I am a self-taught artist.
In 2020, I started creating textile paintings, the art with which I have always been indirectly related to (my father is a painter and sculptor), was my response to the growing anxiety because of the pandemic.
The slow weaving of woolen yarn through linen cloths makes the hands work and the mind rest. It gives me the ultimate mental relaxation, almost meditative, which is difficult to achieve in today’s fast-paced world.
The pandemic has passed, and my fascination with textile art remains and continues to deepen throughout time.
2021 in Vienna was the time when I visited an enormous exhibition of the famous textile artist Sheila Hicks. Her work enchanted me and confirmed my beliefs about the path I intended to follow.
I draw inspiration from the works of famous sculptors. I adore the work of artists such as Barbara Hepworth, Isamu Noguchi, Henry Moore, and the world-famous Polish textile artist Magdalena Abakanowicz, as well as the prior-mentioned Sheila Hicks.
As a self-taught artist, I follow my intuition and my mood. When I fall into melancholy, I create monochromatic and minimalist creations, and other times, when I am euphoric, my creations are vibrant and garish. I use mixed techniques, which include sheep wool, acrylic paint, and metal leaves on one canvas. These are the main features of the newest collection, which will be released soon in 2024.
