BIOGRAPHY
Aurélie Rascao is a self-taught artist, born and raised in Paris, France, and living on the Portuguese coast.
She has always been fascinated by the experience of art and the power of creativity. In her work we find a constant search for balance between simplicity, light and the elements of nature. She mixes acrylics with mineral elements like sand or water to create textures and awakening senses on her canvases.
A key part to her practice is the fact of being a surfer, she is influenced by the ocean which is a major theme that brings self-expression and vision to her work. Her work is the accumulation of feelings, sensory creativity and the way she experiences the world visually and through her heart.
The artist believes that observing and learning from the nature helps to find balance and reflection which connects us with nature.

STATEMENT
I am passionate by the feeling of my hands engaging with the materials, always seeking beauty and combining elements I use to create textures, light and depth to my work. It brings a very characteristic touch to my art. My goal is a neutral, clean and timeless result.
