BIOGRAPHY

My name is Anna Jung. I´m a Germany based artist and architect, born in Poland, since 2001 living near Stuttgart.

At the age of fourteen I discovered my passion towards art. I loved redrawing arts.
As a teen I took drawing lessons from a Polish artist Przemysław Tomczak. My fascination for pencil drawing brought me to study architecture.
Later on, my interest for colors and composition increased continually.

I grew up in a relatively monochrome environment. Not only in terms of color shades, but also in terms of cultural monotony. In the 80s and 90s, Poland was still very monocultural. When I moved to Germany in 2001, I was fascinated by the diversity of human characters and colors in the cities, fashion and in all corners of life.

Later on I joined a group of after-work-artists, instructed by a German artist Markus Merkle and an American artist Sally Grayson in the art school “Kunstschule Labirynth” in Ludwigsburg. There I painted my first acrylic painting. From that time on I am in found of oil paints.

2021 I moved into my own art studio. Since than I have participated several collectiv exhibitions of Galeria Azur in Madrid, Berlin, New York and Miami. I also joined the Canvas International Art Fair 2023 in Venice organised by ItsLiquid Group.

STATEMENT

I paint what I see, I paint what I feel, I paint what I miss.

The greatest inspiration comes from simplicity of living with all its facets.
With my paintings I tell stories about things, which I cannot express in words as well.

I want to draw attention to something specific, to make visible, what may have become invisible to some of us. I want people to stop and take a look for a moment, in the fast pace of everyday life.

The process is my goal. Sitting in front of the painting, searching for the colours, moving the brush along the canvas surface, dancing in the breaks, thinking about the next steps, all this and more belongs to the process of creating my artworks.
