BIOGRAPHY

Amy Yooyoung Oh is a Korean-Canadian mixed media artist based in Toronto. Born in Seoul and raised in Montreal, she studied Fibre Arts at Concordia University, developing a multidisciplinary approach rooted in fine art, material exploration, and textile traditions. With over a decade of experience in the fashion industry, Oh brings a refined understanding of texture, form, and composition to her visual practice. Her works blend abstraction and narrative, inspired by natural forms and the quiet poetry of everyday life. Influenced by her cross-cultural background and meditative process, she creates layered surfaces with acrylic and mixed media to evoke harmony, presence, and the healing energy of nature.

STATEMENT

My work begins with quiet observation of nature as a mirror of the self. Walking and being in nature help me slow down, listen, and reconnect with life’s rhythm. Through layered colors and textures, I explore vitality, balance, and the gentle energy flowing through all living things, offering moments of calm and renewal.
