BIOGRAPHY
Alida Velea was born in a small town, Slanic Prahova and she currently lives and works in Bucharest, Romania.
With a degree in engineering, the decision to transition to the field of fine arts came from a strong inner passion. Thus, a few years later after graduating from the first university, in 2020, Alida obtained a First Class Honors Degree, in Fine Arts, from the University of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom.
Alida’s artistic focus lies in the exploration of one’s own cultural identity and its interaction with the personal and social events that shape our lives. Her approach predominantly embodies a figurative style, which she integrates into a cubism with slightly abstract or surrealist notes. She often combines this traditional approach with modern technologies and diverse mediums, resulting in the creation of unique and authentic works of art.

STATEMENT
I am part of a typology of artists interested in exploring emotions, people, places, and spaces.
My values represent the landmarks according to which I approach a subject that I want to present through my art. They function as an inner compass, and the way of expressing them has developed with my evolution in this field.
