On the occasion of Gallery Weekend Berlin
In its second session in Galería Azur Berlin proposes a space of convergence where contemporary practices engage with the tensions of the present. Coinciding with the vibrant pulse of Gallery Weekend Berlin 2026, the exhibition situated itself within a city historically shaped by displacement, reconstruction, and the constant re-reading of its own identity.
Berlin Session 02 is not conceived as a mere continuation, but as an intensification—an expanded territory in which the works operate as sensitive devices, activating questions around materiality, memory, and modes of inhabiting the contemporary. The invited artists explore a range of languages—from painting to installation, including hybrid media—articulating narratives that oscillate between the intimate and the collective.
Within this context, the gallery becomes a site of productive friction. The works resist singular interpretation, instead inviting an open-ended experience in which the viewer actively participates in the construction of meaning. This is an exhibition that does not assert but suggests; that does not conclude but expands.
Through this second session, Galería Azur Berlin reaffirms its commitment to both emerging and established practices from the Latin American scene in dialogue with the European context, fostering connections that challenge fixed geographies and stable categories.
Berlin Session 02 ultimately stands as both a gesture of continuity and rupture—an attempt to think the present through its multiple layers, recognizing in art a privileged space for imagining alternative ways of being and perceiving.
