BIOGRAPHY
Based in Japan, Yasuhide Kagii primarily creates vibrant acrylic paintings filled with love, smiles, music, and emotional movement.
Since 2001, he has developed the “LOVEPOP” series using fragmented images printed on transparent acetate sheets combined with light, shadow, and layered visual elements.
Although largely self-taught, an opportunity designing opera and ballet stage sets transformed his artistic direction. This experience also led to ongoing experiments combining solo exhibitions with live opera performances.
Through these multidisciplinary works, he explores spaces where memory, emotion, reality, and dream-like perception overlap and dissolve.

STATEMENT
In a world filled with sorrow and division, I continue to create with the hope that people may not lose kindness and empathy toward one another.
“Violence can never solve anything. But if you have a flower in your heart, the flower can make a difference.”
I believe art can become water to grow the flower.
