BIOGRAPHY
Tina Benally is a contemporary German artist whose painting practice is rooted in Romantic Impressionism.
Her landscapes and seascapes explore atmosphere, light, memory, and the emotional presence of nature, combining a romantic sensibility with an impressionistic approach to colour and painterly expression.
Working primarily in painting, Benally creates highly atmospheric compositions in which familiar natural environments become spaces of contemplation and emotional resonance.
The alive version calls “Art is Real“, where she gives the viewer the possibility to jump directly into her animated paintings on it´s own.
Rather than documenting a landscape literally, her work seeks to capture the feeling of a particular moment — changing light, distant horizons, quiet weather, and the subtle tension between reality and remembrance.
Her work has previously been presented internationally, including on Artsy, where one of her paintings was selected as an Artsy Curator Pick. Her practice continues to develop through both traditional painting and broader artistic projects while maintaining a consistent focus on craftsmanship, visual quality, and a distinctive contemporary interpretation of Romantic landscape painting. She loves to combine classic together with modern elements to create “Timeless Originals“ – build to last.

STATEMENT
My work grows from a fascination with the emotional power of landscape, light and atmosphere. I am especially influenced by Romanticism and Impressionism, not as historical styles to be repeated, but as two ways of seeing that still feel deeply relevant today.
In my paintings, I combine the emotional depth and sense of longing associated with Romanticism with the immediacy of colour, light and movement found in Impressionism. I am interested in the point where a real landscape begins to feel almost remembered, imagined or dreamlike.
Through my paintings, I want to offer the viewer a moment of escape from everyday life — a quiet space that still leaves room for their own dreams, memories and thoughts. I aim to create works that feel timeless and restorative, and that retain their emotional presence beyond a fleeting moment.
This dialogue between past and present is central to my practice. I describe this approach as “Timeless Originals” — works that are rooted in classical painting traditions while remaining contemporary in expression and presentation.
Through my “Art is Real” projects, I extend selected paintings beyond the static image and transform them into slow, atmospheric animations accompanied by music. These moving works are intended to deepen the meditative quality of the original painting and allow the viewer to enter the image in a different way.
They have become an important and distinctive part of my artistic identity.
My aim is always to preserve the emotional essence of the original artwork while allowing it to exist in new contexts and media.
