STATEMENT
Kim Min’s work begins with the process of sensing and visualizing the invisible. As I nurtured plants, soil, water, and sunlight, my senses were reawakened—leading me to reflect on nature, the self, existence, and time. That resonance seeps into the canvas as dots and textures.
A dot is a seed, a vibration, a trace of being. In the “Yeong-Yeong (0, 靈)” series, these dots meet, disperse, and form unseen connections and flows—each one an expression of energy. I work on untreated cotton and linen, using natural pigments made with avocado oil, coconut oil, stone powder, and crushed seashells. The fluid motion of these materials gives form to a philosophy of natural flow. The bleeding and layering that emerge from letting go of control reflect the rhythm of the inner self and become visible traces of awareness. The repeated circles are not decorative motifs, but visual prayers for calm and affirmation.
Through this work, I offer questions to the viewer:
“Who am I?”, “What is the true desire within me?”
May these subtle vibrations reach the inner world of others and open a moment to reflect on their own being.
