STATEMENT

The paintings of the Moscow artist are distinguished by a recognizable style, a unique mood, and bold experiments in painting.
Maria explores the inner world of her characters, avoiding excessive details and focusing on depicting emotional states.
She romanticizes everyday life, dedicating her works to the aesthetics of fleeting moments that are familiar and close to everyone.
Her works stand out for their bright, pure colors, emphasized expressiveness, and well-thought-out composition. The greatest influence on her signature style, which combines elements of oil painting and acrylics, came from Fauvism, Expressionism, and Avant-garde art movements.

Maria Smerchinskaya’s paintings are not just decorative elements. They are philosophical reflections embodied in color, texture, and form. In her works, she examines how technology influences our perception of the world, human relationships, and the very essence of creativity. Her canvases seamlessly fit into modern interiors, creating an atmosphere of dialogue between the past, present, and future.
One of the key themes of her art is the interaction between humans and artificial intelligence. Her paintings often depict images of people and machines merging into a single whole. These images symbolize not only the technological revolution but also a new stage in humanity’s evolution. The artist raises questions: will there still be room for human creativity in a world where AI can generate paintings, music, and even literature? Or will artificial intelligence become our co-author, source of inspiration, and partner?
