BIOGRAPHY
Inspired by the vivid colors of her country, Colombian-born artist Karen Bibas has been painting for more than twenty years. Her work has many layers of textural surfaces often consisting of mixed media and acrylic paints spread with palette knives and rollers that are her signature. Karen’s artistic style reflects her inner freedom and happiness which are seen in her colorful compositions. Her work has been exhibited in New York, San Francisco, Miami and she is scheduled to exhibit in Atlanta in 2022. Karen’s work has been seen in Costa Rica, Dallas and Mexico, Dubai , Qatar and Colombia. Karen earned her BFA in Visual, Arts from the Miami International University of Art and Design and is currently working as an art teacher with children and seniors.

STATEMENT
Inspired by Colombia’s vibrant colors and rich textures, I use mixed media and acrylics to create layered, expressive surfaces that embody inner freedom and joy. My work has been exhibited internationally across the US, Middle East, and Latin America. With a BFA, I am also deeply committed to art education and therapy, sharing the healing power of creativity with all ages.
