STATEMENT
Jessie’s practice uses the material culture of Cantonese Opera costumes as a forensic tool. By fracturing gold leaf and dissolving embroidery into pixels, she creates liminal spaces where heritage is not preserved but interrogated.
Her work functions as an excavation site, compelling viewers to confront the fragility and contested meanings of their own inherited artifacts.
