She thus unites two of the crucial features of the cultural history of art in modern times. She does it in her own special way, which is both modern – and yet out of time”In the autumn of 2008, Helle Bang received a beautiful recognition as a church artist with the hanging of the painting “Gabriel” in Ryde Church near Vinderup, where the painting is now on the wall with a centuries-old fresco. In 2019, the bronze sculpture with 5 Dolphins “Samspil” will be unveiled on the occasion of the Aarhus University Research Foundation’s 75th anniversary. In 2023, Helle Bang solved a sculpture assignment in bronze for Funder Church “The Liberation”In April 2012, Helle Bang’s bronze sculpture on granite “Himalayas” was erected at the inauguration of the new Courthouse, Haraldsgade 28, Herning.March/April 2014, Helle Bang was current with the exhibition “Nordic Nature Interpretations” at Greenland’s Cultural Centre KATUAQ in Nuuk.Helle Bang is a member of Bkf – the Association of Visual Artists in Denmark – KKS – the Society of Women Artists – as well as ProKK – Professional Artists – and DBS – the Danish Sculptors’ Society

STATEMENT

Helle Bang is both an expressive and abstract painter, for whom color is a decisive factor in any artwork. For her, it is nature’s special color poetry that fascinates. She captures it—with precision—and reproduces it with great coloristic sense.

She is experienced and playful at the same time, so the wild and daring strokes result in stylish and extraordinarily beautiful paintings.

Her interest in nature dates back to her childhood, when she cycled to the Limfjord, passing blooming roadside edges and beautiful fields and meadows along the way. Helle was also very interested in biology in school, and she therefore started painting the flora in nature even before she attended the Art Academy. At the academy, she was trained in the “right” direction, but now she can no longer hold back; nature must once again be expressed on her canvas. Fortunately, we have also gotten the roadside edges back, much to the delight of biodiversity, which has not been present for many years. Now Helle can once again follow her heart.

Helle is driven by a curiosity about what happens when you set colors against each other on the white canvas. She simply has a need to paint; she cannot help herself.
